Luna's Ventures Camp is a new opportunity for young explorers looking to break out of the day camp scene and into the world of canoe tripping. This camp begins at LUNA where campers can get familiar and comfortable with wilderness skills and etiquette, their guides and their new tripping friends. A night out at the LUNA campsites in a semi-remote environment is a great precursor to the wilderness setting in the days to come. Day 2 we will make the drive north to the striking Massassauga Provincial Park where will begin our 3 day canoe trip. With its small lakes, steady portages and accessible campsites the Massassauga is a perfect area for beginners to hone their canoe and backcountry skills for the first time. The campers will be highly involved in the set up of camp, preparation and cooking of meals, camp duties and portaging. Their hard work is always rewarded with lots of free time to enjoy their new surroundings. Whether they love to swim, fish, draw or write or even learn to build a proper fire, each camper will have ample time to enjoy the experience that is canoe tripping. Before we know it, it will be time to return to Luna with our new found confidence, experiences and friends.
