|Junior Assistant Guides (JAG)|
This program has been carefully designed to continue the growth of strength and self confidence, as well to foster strong leadership abilities within each tripper. To become a JAG, each camper will have previously been on 12 or more days of wilderness canoe trips with Luna, and meet the qualifications as outlined below. Once a camper qualifies, they will have earned their chance to start their journey to becoming a trained Wilderness Guide with Luna Adventures, and begin the JAG program. Each JAG member will assist in the mentoring and welcoming of existing campers, as well as new arrivals into the Luna family.
How the Program Works:
Once a camper has been selected to become a JAG, dates will be provided for staff training, volunteer days, and potential canoe tripping dates. When dates have been agreed upon, a new JAG will be responsible to serve a minimum of 14 days on wilderness canoe trips, and complete 7 days of volunteering at LUNA. Upon completion, and a final debrief, JAG’s may qualify for our 21day leadership training which will begin the following season

About the Project:
Learning Unique Natural Alternatives is what we're all about; promoting self sufficiency, confidence, and respect for our natural world. Our site is a true testament to our vision. With 90% of our infrastructure being portable yurts powered by renewable resources, and a strong "buy local" philosophy; LUNA has a very small footprint on its surrounding environment, truly practicing what we teach.
